Right I'll deffo bear that in minds thanks alot! I might buy two pairs then; one purely for when I'm outside and another pair that will just be used for inside. I still have this doubt that the movement of walking and general shuffling over time would be enough to break earphones anyway but.. oh well.(Original post by Luneth)
Most manufacturers design their earphones cheaply because they're meant to be for outdoor use; they're bound to break and there's no getting around the user bending the wires/wearing away the rubber. If you want something durable to listen to music with, buy some good quality headphones (ie. not Beats). Wireless ones would be even better as they'd lower or eliminate the possibility of broken wires.

Obviously you've got to treat them with care but my Sennheisers have lasted me a long time. My dad has a pair of (German) headphones that have lasted almost 30 years...
