This weekend with Exeter v Leicester, it will show realistically where each team is

Yeah but we can't get carried away with ourselves, its about being good after 22 rounds not 3 so its still really hard to tell whose going to be up there and whose not.

Id go with a top 4 made up of; Sarries, Tigers, Chiefs, Bath, Quins, Wasps and I wouldn't rule out Gloucester tbf

at the minute out of that id go with Sarries, Tigers, Saints Quins but its anyones guess.

On the other side of the table, newcastle are looking to be in danger
Given the table as it stands, Newcastle and Irish are in danger. I'd like to see Worcester staying up.

I'd like to see a playoffs with Sarries, Exeter, Bath and Saints, with a Sarries-Exeter final. But of course that's my absolute ideal, so it's probably not going to happen.

Ideally I'd like to see Sarries, Bath, Chiefs and Wasps, with a Sarries-Wasps final.

Wasps haven't started brilliantly though, they seem to be losing games that they'd more likely than not have won last season.

Agreed, although if you're referring to the reference to Super Rugby I reassure you that Super Rugby is very different to Super League...
At first I thought that he was on about Super League but then realised. It was on my mind then and thought it was worth pointing out

Shame about Burgess, but just goes to prove how different the codes are despite first appearances. Think it was poor from England to try and blood someone in a World Cup, especially with the games they had.

I personally feel (and hope) that Lancaster and his coaching team thought that Burgess would be the best option - honestly I don't think it was that stupid an idea to bring him to the world cup, after all he did play quite well! It reflects worse on him to be honest - one bit of failure and he's back to league!

Elliot Daly surely has to be looked at by the new England coach?

Though on the whole it was a fairly dull weekend in the Premiership. I was also disappointed to see ITV give pride of place in their highlights show to the 4 televised games rather than the, arguably more exciting, 2 games that were not on TV, and only got brief summary reports.

I find terrestrial TV coverage of all sport bar football incredibly pathetic, to be honest.

Feel like it's because they don't have the facilities to cover the non-televised games in sufficient detail? i.e. don't have sufficient commentators etc

Burgess doesn't have the hands for an international 12. Even cloggers like Brad Barritt can pass better than him. In League, Burgess didn't really need to pass well much.

Blindside is Burgess' best position, but England have so many good sixes, it wasn't worth taking him. I did find the idea of Lancaster dropping Bath's 12 (Eastmond) so that Bath's 6 could play there internationally.

Lancaster and previously Johnson for whatever reason don't seem to think that inside centre is a "specialist" position and hence you need a specialist to play there.

The highlights show is normally very good, given how low-budget it is, and there is a commentator covering every non-televised game, full replays of which can be viewed (if you weren't already aware - and they do keep it quiet) at Premiership Rugby TV.

It was solely a match choice issue, maybe contractual, but still a shame.

How do we think the English clubs will go in the Champions Cup this year?

This new competition is so hard to predict. It really depends on the results of a few games between the top teams (and often by extension on seemingly dead rubbers).

Shoutout to Jonathan Davies who will be rejoining the Scarlets from Clermont come next season! Assuming we can discuss Pro 12 action here, guys? Or will I have to start a rival thread with just myself?

That's a big surprise, though I'm not sure how often he was actually playing in Clermont. He never seemed to be in the team for the European games.

I agree, Champions cup is really competitive, just look at pool 5 for example!! I just have a feeling that an English club will do some damage this year.

Glad Tigers got 5 points against Stade at home, that'll help come round 6.

Saracens, well they were very good against Toulouse, probably Toulouse had their minds on other stuff but I'm taking nothing away from them

And Wasps, didnt see them beating Leinster away and I hate to write teams off early but with the group Leinster are in, losing a home game and not getting a losing bonus point means its gunna be extremely tough for them.

And finally, most importantly, i hope all of the French clubs are safe. it was horrible on Friday when the news broke when my team were playing Stade Francais from Paris, I can't imagine how they felt when they found out.
