Maybe you just crave some kind of family-like community?
I haven't got a clue. My friends are the kindest people I've ever met and they are willing to put up with all of my clinginess etc, although they shouldn't have to. I view them as my family, but I suppose it is not the same...

Hi can I ask what your parents died of
    Both died of alcoholism.

Sounds like that, even though you have a lot friends, you don't have that one special BFF type friend who you can talk to about anything and everything. Perhaps you should spend more time with one of your friends and get to know them on a (excuse the cringe worthy phrase) deeper level.

If you are having trouble with connecting people because of an emotional disconnect you should really see a counselor

Thanks for that. I'll try to do this, but I do seem to be emotionally reserved when things come to getting to know people better.

Honestly I have trouble opening up to people and getting to let them know me better but unlike you it doesn't make me feel lonely.

May I ask whether you had been through a traumatic incident as a child?

    Hahaha... yes.

    Hahaha... yes.
Then it might be because of that experience. Maybe you should address the issue with a counselor.

I tried to do this as well but I couldn't really open up to my counselor and ended up lying to her. I did only go for about 3 weeks though and, as I said, I'm not as bothered by my inability to connect with others as you are. Perhaps something to consider? hehe

If you really need someone to talk to, I can volunteer my services.
