No doubt the government will do exactly the same with the SoI

    Which is normally the case

No doubt the government will do exactly the same with the SoI
It does seem a very arbitrary half to ignore though.

Not really, there are only so many concessions people are willing to make, if we were to try to appease every comment literally nothing will get done.

Wow. We've gone from stopping funding for Sex Change Surgury to stopping it for Gender Transformation Operations. Impressively you've managed to come up with a completely incorrect term I haven't even heard of before! In any case, so long as you're intent on seeing transgender people denied basic human rights it's a firm nay from me.

    Which "basic human right" exactly?

    Which "basic human right" exactly?

Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

    (1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

Gender dysphoria is a recognised mental health condition. The standard of living for those who suffer from it is nowhere approaching adequate, as demonstrated by the exceptionally common presence of other mental health issues resulting from it and an attempted suicide rate approaching 50%. This bill would deny transgender people suffering from it the healthcare they need in the form of the only treatment shown to be at all effective.

I think this should be included under the right, but could you point to case law interpreting the Article this way, because it's not immediately clear.

If you want to strictly adhere to the 'right so strictly I do wonder just what the cost would be, just how many other things are we doing that are in breach of this, and I suppose let's extend it further to all 40 odd 'rights', well, I imagine that would be incredibly expensive.

    This bill is very unpopular.
For the record I do in principle support this bill, but not in its current state.
(It could also be worded better)

I Not going to include every single amendment suggested , I already said I've been lenient in reversing my stance of IVF and Reconstructive cosmetic surgery . As J-D said if we appease every member nothing will get done . I hear to get this Into the division lobby not to appease members

I think we should at least send to division, that way we can see how it does with everyone.

Can I humbly suggest that you take this bill, maybe get in touch with one of the members broadly supportive of it, and work on re-drafting it before pushing it further. I can't say it's likely to pass, and I know it's likely your first or at least one of your first bills, but it's marred by fairly basic errors in style, grammar and punctuation that are likely to make it less attractive even to those in support of it. If you want to have any chance of passing it, you need to correct these, and take other amendments on board. If you just wish to propose what you ideologically believe in and be damned whether it's passed or not I entirely respect that too, but you'd still be helped by re-drafting it so you can learn for anything you write in the future that might be more borderline than these proposals

Aye, I would like to see IVF included in the bill but I would support the bill when corrections have been made to the format.

Clean up the bill, mention the costing in the notes of this bill, since you're aiming to save money with this bill. I remember you mentioned them in the last debate, but not in the bill. As others say, you can ask a supporting member to help with touch ups, I might support the end product.

Aye, I would like to see limitation on IVF included in the bill but I will support the bill when the tidying up has taken place.
Why support a bill which will cost the NHS money out of ideological vendetta?

You should ask the socialists, they're even more in favour of doing things to cost public services more than you and the greens

I'm asking someone who is supporting a bill which does this with no actual benefit other than ideological purity (the service gets worse rather than better). If i see a socialist/green bill doing that I'll ask them to.
