I don't understand why people are spending Christmas alone.

Everyone has time off for Christmas, so how come...?

Anyone alone right now and going to be alone over Christmas and new year? Hows you feeling about that?
My parents are going to see my grandparents and the rest of the family at Christmas, then staying with our friends for New Year. I'll be at home.

But I've got our lovely little family of 5 cats to keep my company so I'm happy

It's better to be alone: you don't need to share all the chocolates etc. All for myself.

Yes. Thank god. I don't want to talk to people about how cold it is or fabricate laughs in response to crap jokes. I want to knuckle down to some Downton Abbey with a mince pie and a massive glass of wine.

I have my mother. If you mean in the romantic sense, however, then yes, but it will always be that way and I am used to it. It will be okay when I am older too, as I will have lessons plans and marking and assessments to do over Christmas.

Most of all, I just miss the little ones at school.

I'm also gonna be alone for this year's christmas and new year as well, even no parents or relatives as they are in my home country, last year was different, before things were ruined....But anw why must think so much about it, some of us have exams to deal with, and if not, we still have loads of extra part-time work to do and earn a bit for ourselves. Especially this period workplaces usually increase the shifts length, getting used to it, and work...In the case of being to bored, find your friends and go out, or at least, find sth to do outside your room and your house, and you will forget about loneliness.
