You can't exterminate them. They will disappear into the wilderness just like al Qaeda did, instead just accept that half of the problems they "cause" are actually caused by isolationist nationalistic propaganda.
they cause problems by cutting children's heads off and using little girls and boys as sex slaves.

Take the piss all you want but worse terror groups have existed for decades under worse domestic security
None of them held territory amounting to a substantial country, a controlled base population and many hundreds of millions of pounds in income annually.

    That's a problem in Syria.

I was talking specifically ISIL's threat TO THE WEST.
duh they want to extend their sex-offender "Caliphate" across the Mediterranean to our country. they want to cut off our children's heads & use them as sex slaves.

They are causing serious problems in Syria, but in terms of "The West VS ISIS" they are no more effective than any other terror group.
You seem to possess no ability to look ahead at foreseeable consequences.

Allow IS to establish itself in Syria and Iraq and it will use that as a base to attempt to expand across the Middle East, causing untold chaos among our allies and disruption to oil supplies worldwide and strategic trade routes. The result of that is likely to be economic chaos and lots of human suffering. Further success will lead to the need for a western invasion and a massive conflagration.

Yeah and since that's never ever going to happen, it's not a threat.

Do you really think ISIS is capable of establishing a multinational 'caliphate' when they are struggling to hold territory in Syria alone?
that is their ambition, but we will crush them like beetles before they achieve it.

It is the media who is saying that it is the West vs ISIS who are the problem, if they hadn't spammed the world news with stupid articles about how they beheaded gay people in Syria or something like that, the chances are that most of the foreign nationals who became the Paris attackers would not have been radicalised.
That makes no sense. ISIS was getting plenty of recruits from western countries before they became a top news story (after their summer 2014 victories in northern Iraq), when they were less well known than they are now.

And are you saying the media is supposed to just ignore ISIS and not report on what is a major and important news story? I see this attitude with a lot of people and it's quite worrying.

they've already reached their maximum territory and are now losing it.
Let's hope so. They are still a threat to their neighbours and, through them, to the west though. If you ignore threats they have a habit of becoming catastrophes.

It's time assads oppressive regime was toppled and putin was taught a lesson. If we do this then ISIS will stop their atrocities as they exist to oppose assad. Hope they focus their attacks on Assad the butcher

No. IS exists to create an Islamic caliphate. Assad's problems (and Iraqi incompetence) merely provided the opportunity.
