    Very sympathetic with the OP from personal and similar experience. My max was a 115 hour week and it's brutal. If you can't see a track out of your current situation then you should speak to headhunters and get options - it's what I did and now have a much better balance (with better pay).

    Don't despair - I know it feels like a choice between staying as you are or leaving completely but it never is that stark.

    Can confirm this is true. Popular tactic by investment banks is to require a notice period to sign into the EU hours legislation which exceeds the notice period they have to provide you for termination. You can sign back into it if you wish, but you wont have a job by the time it comes into effect.
