I didn't need to fund it?

I literally just facepalmed so hard.

I'm literally an idiot. There's no way Governments actually spend that much money building houses, because they get the private sector to do it.

Leave me be whilst I go sit in a corner

It's still only be 50,000 homes a year, because its £10bn a year
You still need to pay the private sector to do it, the point is, get again, getting the money is the treasury's problem, how many other SoIs have you seen that say exactly how the money is to be raised?

Abstain. This is a start, but what is really needed is a) planning law reform and b) a tax on empty properties. The value of existing properties needs to be reduced as well.

Edit: also, new houses should be state-owned council houses.

Thank you for raising your opposition internally whist it's been sitting there for months.

We wouldn't be paying them £100bn though, would we?

Fair point. I suppose it's a bit too late for me to get a cheeky edit in and remove that bit...

I don't get it… Why are you releasing so many items at the very end of the term when it doesn't matter any more?
How doesn't it matter any more?

Parliament is not dissolved for a week yet.

You would, unless you're changing the content to make it 500,000 private rented, but then you need to tell us how you're going to force 100,000 a year

It's literally been there for months. Fez and I have had conversations about it in like 3 or 4 different threads....

Nevermind now, just next time raise concerns internally so I can possibly improve on it

I nearly always comment on bills, motions and statements internally first - this is the first one I've missed. Apologies once again.

Well, if it passes, I hope the next Government will be able to sort out how to pay for it, which I will admit I've messed up.

Now, want to give me feedback on the other stuff?

The next government won't have to either, the invisible civil servants will be at it

I'm only asking you to agree with the principle. My costing is correct, but the way in which I intend to raise the money is not. However, how the money is raised is irrelevant to the actual SOI.

Nay.

Nobody disagrees that the housing crisis needs a solution, I just do not think this is the answer.

OK then:

> Housing crisis
> Builds more houses

> Receives bill for construction of houses
> "Hang on! I thought these houses were being built for free!"
