Potentially. Written communication allows for more thorough exploration of character, and it can be more fulfilling than face to face interaction. But many things are missed during anonymous communication, so maybe it can lead to attachment or certain feelings, but maybe not love.
But then love is subjective, so who are we to judge?

We see that in some stalkers too. Who've had very little interaction with the person but build up a whole relationship from that fantasy.

You can fall in love with their online persona...

You fall in love with the person they portray... But until you meet them, do you actually know whether you love them or not.

But yeah... You know what... You can! You can fall in love with someone online but very rarely does it work out for the best

You can fall in love with someone else's digital persona; whether that is actually them or not is another question
