Also if i am doing a new syllabus, should i not do past papers from a certain year e.g 2008 papers?
Just do every past paper you can get your hands on, the question styles will still be the same on the new syllabus. Download a copy off the specification from the exam board website, and any questions in past papers you feel aren't on the new spec, just don't answer. However, many of the topics on the new spec will still be on old spec papers.
