Blaming exams for a lack of activity is an excuse that does not work because exams should boost activity as TSR becomes procrastination, or a break activity. During exam time I have TSR logged in all day which I check during my regular breaks, when I have free time in the evening, and I find myself spending more time on TSR. When exams are not taking place individuals tend to be out with friends, away from the house, or occupied with other hobbies, so exams make the TSR MHoC the most convenient thing to do during a revision break; Ray should have the time.
You're one of the few people who has said that. Exam time decreases my time on TSR. It's an unnecessary distraction.

    Whut...
I'd actually agree with the theory that exam season boosts TSR activity... Partly due to students accessing study resources and asking questions, and then also to procrastinate.

Not sure whether that's what actually happens in practice, but hey ho, not a bad hypothesis.

Not bad at all but I'm inclined to think that people would steer off TSR during this time? For example, in my case my activity is much lower than it was say earlier this year.

Yeh, I see how it can go both ways... For me, I don't think it actually changes to be honest, but then, I don't use TSR for study resources, and I don't have enough of a life to mean that outside of exam times, I would be spending less time on TSR...

I think it will just depend on the person...

I think I got involved with MHoC just as my exam season was starting, but I certainly spent much longer on it immediately after!

I mean, I suspect that the most conscientious studiers will spend very little time on MHoC during their exams.

With that in mind, I propose that if Ray doesn't get a first in these exams we MoNC him immediately.

Aye, Ray's reasons for his absence are entirely understandable.

We need a speaker who is actually here and doesn't let the DS do all the work. Constant leave periods isn't helpful to the house and to take over a month away in a short period of time is unacceptable. The reasons are acceptable, yes. But why commit to the "job" if you know you're barely going to be around in a few months time?

Please could be explained to the House why Ray is absent - from the official record
