Aww that's so mean. I really don't understand how people can do that. It's so disgusting.
I don't think you're a girl repellent, maybe you just need a little confidence to talk. As long as you don't look so desperate talking to a girl, I don't think girls would mind you speaking to them.
It's not great tbh! The people I'm around are not nice and things have only gotten worse at college! I'm now being bullied which sucks hardcore!
Really? I don't have much confidence tbh, but I did approach and talk to a girl I had a crush a couple of months ago. It didn't end well but oh well.
Then you've not met the girls around where I live! They only hang with the popular people who have sex with them! They then come crying saying they've split with their 'boyfriend'. I'm just sitting there trying not to explode with anger!

Aww how long do you have left till you finish college?
I can't believe kids are still bullying?!! It annoys me so much. You have to stand up for your self, I mean you don't have to hit them or anything but speak up for your self.
Why should you explode with anger? If I was you, I would just look the other way because I do not like socialising with those kind of people.
And you don't have to meet girls in your college, there are so many other places to meet girls.

First off, you're amazing and I just wish you weren't so unique!

On topic, and as a guy who's also always alone: just sit next to him the next time you're in a lecture or studying at the library and say hi! Trust me, it'll make his day

Aww, thanks, please say this to my parents haha.

I know that he knows I exist but we've never spoken at all for two years. He probably thinks no one knows him, while I'm sat there creepily watching haha.
Wouldn't it be awkward if someone came to you out of know where and said hi?

You sound like a really genuine person! The world definitely needs more people like you

There is a girl in my lectures who came to sit next to me and my friend cause she saw me on the train before which made me happy! Our friendship hasn't really progressed much, but that is mainly cause I am really shy and she is always with her best friend which makes it even harder for me. She did come and sit next to me in another lecture and spoke to me though

Just say hi, I've tried to do something similar but being shy myself... it makes it a lot more harder.

"What do I say? won't it be weird? what if he doesn't want me to talk to him? what if there are awkward silences?"

Maybe just get his Facebook details or something and try and talk to him that way?

Or sit next to him and if the lecturer asks you to pair up.. just pair up with him?

I'm trying to imagine how he thinks from what you've mentioned and my own experiences and although it would be awkward if you introduced yourself in the library or something, there's nothing wrong with sitting next to him in a lecture with a "hey, can I sit here?" and later "so, my name's X, what's yours?" That actually happened to me once; we're more acquaintances than friends now, but that doesn't mean you'll be the same!

And you can even introduce yourself in a library or wherever if you respect your surroundings. Just do the same thing and remember you won't be able to talk as much :P

I am like the quiet person you described. Hardly ever go to lectures, probably 3/5 days, and don't really talk to anyone. I have one group I go to sit with and they're nice but due to lack of revision I sometimes felt a bit daft around them, so I avoided them for a while.
I would like to talk to more people, and being shy definitely makes it hard. I have to get the balls to just go up to them and start talking but I always have a hundred other things going through my head 'they won't like me' or 'I'll look stupid' or 'they'll judge me' which stop me. That said, I will do it! Tomorrow, I will go up to the next group of people ad start talking to them about exams/revision. Thanks OP, you've given me the courage to just go and talk to people if I wish.

Just coming up to me and saying hello would work. Just ask if he needs help for a module or wants to go over something. Ask how he is.

I think it's really nice what you're doing here

Ohh you know how parents are, always comparing you with others.

Aww that's nice, I guess sometimes you cant force someone to be your friend. I think I might say hi to him a few times before I actually go and sit with him. It would be really awkward if I go into a lecture and sit next to him while my friends are calling me over.

But thank you for your advice.

Aww that's so sweet, you should go up to them!! So what if they are a bit smarter than you, trust me at least one of them is pretending to be smart when in reality they probably don't know what's going on.
Seriously there is nothing wrong with it, there are some people that do that to my group of friends and we just talk to them like normal. Actually now they've become really close to us.

The problem is I'm never alone, so it would be awkward if I started speaking to him when my friends are there. But next time I'm walking past him I'll say hi and then maybe after a while speak to him? Is that okay? Or would it be weird?

Good luck for tomorrow!! Just do it and if it doesn't work, at least you tried. What's the worst that could happen!!

How do I speak to him? He is always alone and made no friends since last year, I feel bad for him and want to be his friend, but it would be so awkward if I just go up to him and say hi.
Awkward. It's as if you're talking about me! :/
I'm exactly as you described too.

Anyway if that person is like me then just saying hi isn't enough. You need to start off with talking to them about something you both like and ask what do you like doing and find out if you don't know and you need talk a lot and then when they feel comfortable they'll still be your friend.

My first exam is next week but we don't have lectures anymore. I guess I'll speak to him next year.
How's studying going? Have you revised yet?
