What did everyone put for the 5 marker with the quadrat and tide levels

Everyone around me was asking for extra paper and I have no idea why. Also, for the "what dangers on a coast line" question, I panicked and just wrote "drowning"
Original post by Vapouriser
It's 64% because you do 2.4/1.3 x 100 and then you get 164 so you subtract the 100% in order to get the percentage change

how many marks was it?
Hahaha I wrote something like tripping over a rock and falling into the sea

tape measure - transect
quadrants placed at random intervals along transect
identify seaweeds in each quadrat with guide
use ruler to measure length of seaweeds and take mean length
see how growth changes along transect
plot graph

3 marks

I did so much human biology revision and when it actually came to it, I had to make up the third function of the liver (and I'm too scared to check if it's correct or not).
The paper itself wasn't too hard, but I know half my answers are wrong.
I'm just hoping that paper 2 has a lot of human.

SAME my mind went completely blank!

It's one of those that's ridiculously simple but you just can't wrap your head around :'
100/1.4 = about 71.5
71.5 X 2.3 = about 164
Minus the 100 and it's about 64 I think? Maybe?

I hope so thats what I got

Thanks I reckon I might've got a 2-3 marks there but I just hate quadrats and transects so didn't really know about them properly and didn't write about transects
will tobacco get me the mark for the carcinogen question or did i have to put tobacco smoke
What was the question after the one which was which era did the american and asian bears split?
Original post by herewegoloobylou
I did 2.3 - 1.4 = 0.9
0.9/2.3 x 100
= 39 to two sf

That would mean though that 2.3 is 39% more than 1.4 which is wrong because logically you know that double 1.4 is 2.8 and 2.3 is closer to 2.8 than 1.4 so it's clearly over 50%

Yeah course and it's only one mark

what did you put for that question

The method I showed is correct, it's literally your method, but instead of putting it over 2.3, it's over 1.4. There's often a question like that and you still get a mark if you used the wrong denominator.

Was that the one about why the number of giant pandas was decreasing
Original post by JCwizard
what did you put for that question

The Asian and American bear question? Or the next on?

It was that one.
Just to clear the air.. The answer to the length question is as follows

(2.3-1.4) / 1.4 = 0.64.....
ANS * 100 = 64% (2sf)

second to last question was hard regarding comparing the snails in different environments.

that was easy, if you are finding that hard, i worry for you
Original post by notveryoriginal
2.3-1.4=0.9
100\2.3= 23 over 1000
23 over 1000 X 0.9 = 39 to 2 sig figs

Which is completely wrong I now realise

It was (0.9/1.4)*100
