Sooo... My teacher is absolutely terrible and has barely prepared us for the exam this Friday! I'm fine with fieldwork, it's just the other 10 markers. I have no idea what case studies to learn and why I need to know them e.g reasons why urban areas decline or whatever. I'm doing crowded coats and rebranding. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated
The case studies I am doing for re branding are:
    Stratford Olympics
    Cornwall
    Glasgow(but could be any city)
Surrey(because I did my field work there)

sorry I didn't do crowded coasts.
    good luck !!!!!!!

Does anyone know if we need to know about both rural and urban fieldwork?
I have only prepared for urban, even though my college did both urban and rural fieldwork - As both are in the specification.

All past paper questions say either rural OR urban.
What have you guys done your rebranding fieldwork on?

I'm doing Crowded Coasts and Rebranding! I feel kinda prepared because our geog department is SO good! Look at examiner reports since there are loads of examples of students answers that are good there, and loads of case studies there too!

Crowded Coasts is way harder for me, I feel better about Rebranding!! What types of fieldwork and research methods should I revise and be ready to apply for CC do you think??

Our school just did mainly urban fieldwork in Boscombe! But that can be used for rural as well I suppose? In all my past papers and mocks I've only ever used Boscombe since they've said Rural OR Urban, I never specified which it was though.

    Guys!
I'm stuck on the structure of these answers?

    How would you structure:

    a) a 10 mark resource question
    b) a 10 mark case study
    c) a 15 mark fieldwork question

    ALSO:
Is anyone re-taking this paper? If so, what did you get last year?

For the Fieldwork and Research Question, is it advisable to separate paragraphs for each of my techniques? Or is it better to bunch them? i.e.
    Intro
    Para 1: 3 Fieldwork
    Para 2: 3 Research
    Conclusion

Can somebody tell me if this is ok?:

    Cornwall- rural example
    Liverpool- urban example
Surrey- more urban example just in case i need more to say.
Canary Wharf and/or Stratford- fieldwork and research/results and conclusions (urban example only).
Do you think I need another rural example for extra information?

Also- does anyone think sustainability is gonna come up in crowded coasts or rebranding?? D: thanks.

The resource questions you need an introduction around 3 paragraphs and a conclusion. If you want full marks you need to give an example of a case study. For the case study questions you need at least 3 different case studies to get 7 or more marks. (Also need a intro and conclusion)For the fieldwork questions you still need an intro and conc but because it's 15 marks you need to write 4 paragraphs to get top marks.Good luck on your exam!!

So for the 15 mark F&R question, is the structure simply:
    Intro
    Paragraph 1: 3 Research Techniques
    Paragraph 2: 3 Fieldwork Techniques
    Conclusion

I think it should be fine! Like hopefully the question won't specify one type- rural or urban- since they don't know where we carried out our fieldwork

Probably not as there is a lot to write about Cornwall's rebranding:

    - Jamie Oliver restaurants
    - Eden Project
    - Farm diversification
    - Watergate Bay
    - Super-fast broadband funding

As for sustainability, it'll probably come up because it's my weakest area in the topic!

Yeah, some people would not have had the opportunity to do any fieldwork, let alone rural and urban.

What case studies could you use for sustainable rebranding? Like London docklands and Sydney olympics?
