    Hi.

I went to a restaurant alone today for a nice chilled night. Wasn't in the mood to socialise. Anyway after the while 2 guys came and sat on a table near me. They talked about a film they were planning to see and other general things.

Anyway, when they finished eating and asked the waitress for the bill, I walked over to her, asked what time the restaurant's open until and asked her if she'd give one of the guys (the one with glasses) a note I'd written (telling him to enjoy his film, explaining I couldn't help but overhear and stating my mobile number, and with "Text me", a smiley face, my name and a kiss also written down too).

She gave it to him, he half read it aloud when she left, looked at me and asked what it was. I stated it was for him and explained that I'm kinda shy (I was too shocked to smile at him while saying this) before staring down at my food straight after which he thanked me before leaving with his friend. It was tense and he didn't smile. You could sense an atmosphere while they checked they had left enough money. I was slightly shaky but don't think it was noticeable to others.

    Thoughts/opinions/advice please?

    x
Omg your so cute! If a girl did that to me I'd be on you like a magnet... now listen there's a good chance the two guys are gay which might explain the awkwardness after but seriously you should try that again it's nice to see a shy girl try and put herself out there. By the way, do you have any confirmation that the two guys were straight?

edit: nvm I've read the other posts so the guys were straight ok, well if that's the case then I reckon the dude who got your number is actually interested but he's shy as well so it might take some time to ring you. if not then he can get F*cked cuz there's plenty of guys that would appreciate what you do! stay golden, pony girl.

IMO it is quite risky to give your personal number to a stranger whose morals and trustworthiness you know nothing about. Unless it's a burner phone...
Yeah I feel like that too but thought I'd take a risk as I'd regret not taking a chance. Thanks for your reply x

So you didn't smile because he wasn't looking too happy when he came over?

He was on the table next to me. I didn't smile because of my nerves and I was so shocked at his directness and the fact that he read the note out loud at first, then proceeded to directly ask me what it was with no smile on his face. If I was him I would have read the note in my head, smiled at and thanked the sender before leaving x

He was with his friend and I was at the table next to him. If the conversation had gone wrong I would have had to endure the awkwardness for the rest of my meal x

Haha! Are you being serious? I have a feeling he thought I was desperate and weird x

It was a good thing and should increase your confidence, whether or not he calls. You took a chance and hope it pays off.

Commendably bold move. If he fancies you and is single it is likely to work. If not, nothing lost really.

So the guy didn't get in touch. I'm assuming he thought I was a desperate weirdo, not helped by the fact that as he left the restaurant, I practically had up head in the sundae glass I was eating my dessert from due the awkwardness and embarrassment. Still can't believe he looked directly at me after reading the note aloud and, almost accusingly, asked me what it was 😳 😂 x

You took a risk and it didn't pay off- this time.
Learn from the experience, don't beat yourself up.
It's OK to make mistakes. You probably won't see the guy again, and nobody died.

You did a good thing. Dont let it put you off. There will be a certain grp of men who would if they were asked and you just need to connect with one of those.

    Did he see you?
    What happened.

And well done for taking a risk, from your op it sounds like he either had a gf or wasn't interested, but not every guy you see is gonna be interested.. don't let it put you off.
