Who cares about the tinpot cup that is the FA Cup?

Winning 6 games against the mighty:

    - Sheffield United
    - Derby County
    - Shrewsbury Town
    - West Ham
    - Everton
    - Crystal Palace

is hardly a barometer of being successful. Nice trophy to have though.

Say what you want about LVG, today was been an absolute shambles. Everybody knew it was happening - but LVG. Football clubs need to get better at dealing with these sorts of situations, to be honest.

I'm not sure if it is 'fair' or not but it is not good for consistency. MU need a consistent and longer term manager to replace Fergie and they should have had that in 2013. Whilst Van-Gaal has not been the best manager, he has finished with an FA cup win which is better than no result at all. Personally, I believe he should have been given another season and then the ultimate decision made next year. Despite M's record, as far as I know he has not been long term and changing managers every season or two is not going to be
    helpful.

It is when you look at our record against bottom half/lower league sides!

Van Gaal should have been given a 5 year extension.

Mourinho's one I'm pretty sure he knew he was being sacked though.

They should have told him months ago that continuation was to be based on top four. The United PR was a complete shambles.
Not bad if they paid up his contract, but they did finish getting rid of him very shoddily.

Apparently Mourinho broke the news to LVG in a call, in a bid to save their friendship.

In hindsight, it seems United didn't behave as badly as reported. Mendes the scrote leaked the news on Cup final day, Woodward told LVG personally on Sunday, and the only held off confirming until LVG was in the air to Portugal in the jet the club paid for. It could have been smoother but they can't have predicted (well, knowing his character maybe they could) the leak happening which overshadowed the post-match on Saturday.

Who knew sorting image rights would take so long? I've seen a few people saying "it should have been tied up by the time LVG was dismissed", but they are exactly the same people who probably **** off clubs for lining up managers as replacements behind their departing boss' back.
