What did you guys get for the balanced equation?
I put for the chemistry 6 mark methane less poulltion cheaper its available more
Original post by ~Lily~
It was ok...
Did anyone get the following: (doing it from the top of my head)
7 units
Dendrites
Relay neurone
Effector
Carbond dioxide catayctic converter question
Microwave
Radio
The one with Oxygen forget which letter (think c) was not an hydrocarbon
Cracking (to match supply with demand)
Insulin travels through blood
Carbohydrates stored as glycogen in liver
Needs more insulin to break down sugar (glucose)
Last question: gap A is bigger than gap B, the wavelengtgs are same lengtg, and waves diffract differently after going through the gap.
For the vaccination 6 marker: about antibodies and anti gens and white blood cells...
Depressants block signals from crossing synapses
On the first page last qiestion about phenotypes wtf? I didnt know what to write. Made bs up.
In the perfume evaporation one wrote about hkw it has weak forces of attraction so kinetic energy can break it easily...
Cant remember anymore
Sorry its a bit scrappy lol

I think for the phenotypes you either had to write dominant or recessive or normal/carrier/cystic fibrosis, I'm not too sure though

4.5 oxygens

I didnt get dendrite or mircowave but other than that yes
Yeah same I wrote Cell body for the labelling the neurone one

Thats what i thought...i wrote no cystic fibrosis...cystic fibrosis/carrier and then cystic fibrosis for FF

what was the balancing equation

Something like
2c4h10 + 13o2 arrow 8co2 + 10h20

For the phenotypes one I put that
FF was normal
Ff was carrier
ff was sufferer

what was the chemistry 6 marker

Compare methane & coal for heating a factory
Unofficial biology section mark scheme-
Not entirely sure all correct

1. Diabetes [ 7 ]
A} in the blood/blood stream
B) carbs increase sugar in blood - insulin injection helps to lower this level
C) stored in liver as insoluble glycogen
D) FF - no cystic fibrosis Ff - none but is a carrier. ff - has cystic fibrosis.

2. Alcohol [ 6 ]
A) 7 units
B) is a depressent - blocks receptors so neurotransmitters cant get through
C) tick boxes - over 200% chance of injury is alcohol is 150 & the 2ns one
3) Immunity [6]
6marker polio. Inject with pathogen. Antibodies fight it / memory cells created. Active & passive immunity. Data anlysis (from graph)

4) Neurone [5]
A) relay neurone / effector
B) cell body / dendrites - unsure
C) damage to myelin sheath / insulating sheath - axon transmitting messages not protected - slows in pace of transmission & could not be delivered at all.

Im missing 1mark - If you disagree or remember other questions tell me

Is this the most popular thread on this exam? Doesn't seem much compared to other exams.

4.5 oxygens

I wrote 4.5 oxygens too but idk if you are allowed to right that

Thats what i thought...i wrote no cystic fibrosis...cystic fibrosis/carrier and then cystic fibrosis for FF

ff= cystic fibrosis
Ff= carrier of cystic fibrosis

FF= no cystic fibrosis.
Balance Equation

2C4H10 + 8O2 = 8CO2 +H2O
or
C4H10 + 6 1/2O2 = 4CO2 + 5H2O

The Physics 6 marker was really hard.. I literally just blanked on that question.
What did everyone write for the insulation question the one that asked whether the person should spend £55 or get the wall insulation

I said cavity wall was better because in 5 years it saved £600 but the other option only saved £495
