    Britain has never occupied Ireland. The shared monarchy between England and Ireland was established in the 12th century when there was a Norman conflict between two conflicting dynasties. The shared parliament was created by agreement between the British and Irish parliaments.

    The Irish nationalist history is of course at odds with this. It treats Norman invasion as some sort of English conquest. If Ireland has been occupied for 800 years, England has been occupied for far longer.

    As for nuclear weapons: great, another point underlining your fantasy English state's complete impotence.
