Depression is basically the reason as to why it takes me 3 hours to sleep at night and so my eye bags can compete with a panda. When I get my bouts of depression, I start to comfort eat and because of that, it's harder for me to lose weight. I've lost 5 kg since October but because the bouts have been getting more and more frequent, it's incredibly difficult.

In a way depression has made me mentally stronger because I know I want to get out of this but honestly, it has a huge negative toll on me.

Does anyone else find that their depression makes them physically ill? Although, I was finding for some time that the physical illness was giving me depression, rather than the other way around.
I get really bad headaches when I do get depression actually

It's one of those awful, awful illnesses that I believe that you're only ever able to fully comprehend the feelings and thoughts that come with the illness when you experience it yourself and I wouldn't ever wish that on anyone so hopefully this thread may show some of the sides of depression that people aren't necessarily aware of
    I hope so too

I read a book called 'My Heart and Other Black Holes' by Jasmine Warga and it summed my thoughts up pretty neatly except for the ending,

I think I had this too but the other way around when I felt sad I wouldn't eat the pain somehow comforted me. I lost a lot of weight, it wasn't healthy.
