It was - 9% of real earnings above £21,000 in real terms. Now the government wants to go and change that. They gave out 'rock-solid' assurances that this wouldn't happen; students took the loans out in good faith, good faith that the Conservative Party is completely abusing.
If they were rock solid assurances then the clause wouldn't have been in there, to say people who go to university are supposed to be intelligent they seem to have difficulty showing it. 9% over 21k in real term, okay then, care to tell me now what I would be paying back in 23 years?

9% of whatever you earn in real terms over £21,000: so assuming an average salary of £30k before tax, and you never being unemployed or dropping below £21k in earnings, you'd pay back in real terms £18,630.

So you can't tell me what I will be paying back in 2039? So much for knowing exactly what is being paid...

As much as I may dismay my colleagues in the Conservative Party, I have to support this petition.
