I didn't go to my year 13 prom cause I don't like the idea of going to an event where most of the guests are people a) i don't like or b) i don't ever socialise with. Also this particular prom allowed plus 1's and one of them was my old crush from year 11 and I didn't want to bump into him again with his girlfriend TBH as that was awkward last prom in year 11 which was one of the worst nights ever so yeh...... Proms are overrated and also £30 I felt wasn't worth the money seeing as we weren't even having a proper dinner :/
oooh that crush situation you had seems like a nightmare

I can't remember as it was a few years ago now, but if I factored in the typical cost of a dress, potentially hair etc too as well as the ticket, it wasn't worth it!
Yeh I agree and everyone always goes OTT so it's not like you can just turn up in any old outfit cause people will lookar you funny and for what is a school event it all seems a bit extreme and a waste of time and money aha

Yes, and I enjoyed all of 5 minutes when we all sang Wonderwall at the end of the night. Most of it was pretty lacklustre.

I went to my prom, it was good but not great.

I remember everyone kept saying that prom was going to be amazing but really it was just average. The food consisted of chicken with roast potatoes and vegetables, it tasted alright. After that the teachers presented awards, it was terrible because it was so obvious who was going to win. Then the rest of the night was basically just everyone either sitting down chatting or dancing.

Even though it wasn't that amazing I'm still glad I went just because that's probably the only prom I'll have in my life. Plus it was nice to be dressed up for once and dancing with my friends.

I went and tbh what made it enjoyable was spending the night with my friends/people that I can generally have a good time with, and not necessarily the events themselves.
I wasn't too bothered with my appearance tbh (like I didn't do makeup and I just wore my hair straight as it usually as) apart from the fact that I bought a nice prom dress, and so overall it wasn't as stressful as some people make it out to be

I did not go , because I had my uncles engagement , so it was a castle themed engagement in Scotland . But it was impossible for me to make it back , and personally I did not get it at start ,

but now looking back if I would have gone it would have been enjoyable to connect with someone people that I did not before and dance with people , but personally if I had the chance or time went back I would have never missed it because their are some things that you cannot bring back once they are gone and you are just left with memories . :cry2::cry:,
But everyone has their own choice and views on prom , so it is understandable why you think that

    Oh trust me it was
All throughout year 11 I fancied the **** out of this guy who I say next to in maths and I kept texting him but it was always awkward when we spoke in class cause I knew he didn't like me but I just kept trying and after a while pretty much everyone knew that I fancied him cause apparently I kept flirting with him . But basically he had been best mates with this particular girl since year 7 but she always said that she didn't like him in that way and she even told me that we should get together and that she thought he liked me... Anyways fast forward to prom and them two are together snogging each other's faces off and then they come up to me and tell that I look great. Felt like punching the ***** but i was just nice. What makes it worse is that they're still together now in year 13 and they both came to the prom even though they didn't even stay at my school for sixth form but they knew people so came as plus 1's so my god I am SO glad I didn't go but I still managed to bump into the girl in town the other day but just smiled like I always do .... Eurgh.

I was emailed the link to the photos from this year's prom which occurred the other week and my god I'm glad I didn't go cause some of the pics don't suggest people were having a good time and I don't consider sitting on a bench outside some posh house to be fun like no thanks

Yh I know and Yh she is just a little beach cause we never spoke yet as soon as I started to get off with him she starts texting me and was basically encouraging me to get with him... And then when she knew it wasn't working she just decided to pounce. I kinda thought they might get together cause people were speculating but I figured they were just friends and she even asked me one English lesson about how I'd rate him out of 10 and then she was like oh I don't think he's that attractive like lying lying lying bloody ridiculous and so Yh I didn't want to see him again or her for that matter would've just been awkward and they would've been even more intimate cause they're a proper couple now :/ it's not just them as well there's so many people who I've had arguments with over the years or who have ****ed me over in one way or another so I just wanna never see them again and not pay to spend the night pretending to be their mates ....
