I'd say that's more because it's their second language..

I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt =)

Depression? Tush! Nothing a solemn sleep, some self-indulgence, and the arrival of next day won't solve.

I often struggle to find the motivation to even get out of bed.

But when I can, I find that what helps me is going on a walk (alone). Sometimes I eat excessively and others not at all. I try to avoid my parents like the plague (they make my problems worse). I also like to talk to my friends at that usually makes me feel a bit better. Sometimes I like to look out of the window and see how beautiful the world is. I might also write a poem. I could also end up going back to bed and wishing I didn't have to face the world.

    Hope that helped.

But depression is actually a recognised illness.

I don't think the OP is speaking of that kind of depression. OP appears to be speaking of "feeling down". Unless I have misread it.

When I get depressed, either I sink into myself and think about the things Im depressed about which gets me worse or else I push everything to the back of my mind and go out with friends and party.
It's hard to get out of my depressed moods when I'm really into a deep one but that's just the way I am.
