Go speed dating and see if you click with anyone. Don't mention the money . You don't need "friends" for the wrong reasons.*

Start cycling, cricket or anyone of the other 173 sports out there! Join a club, or even start your own - people will come and you can meet/socialise!

Ps. It's really fascinating that you have come to TSR for advice, I mean we're no reddit but I'm curious... why TSR?

Hi, i'm new here but was just wondering if someone had some advice. I left university about a year ago to set up some apps / web businesses that are now making me about £250k p/a passively. I recently started renting an apartment in Amsterdam as it looks like a fun place, however I am really bored and lonely. I have no friends that I kept from University / school, and it's pretty difficult for me to make friends / go clubbing as i'm kind of socially awkward, and i'm allergic to alcohol which really doesn't help. I don't look amazing (I don't think i'm really ugly but also don't look 'hot', so it's also difficult for me to find a girlfriend as people have also said I have a boring personality. On Tinder I get pretty much no matches. Does anyone know what I can do to start making more friends and maybe find a girlfriend? I'm 21 by the way. Thanks
Dont worry about not going clubbing. The people that do that are most awkward of all.

Anyway, you could start by giving some of your money to charity.

Ok so you want to spend money has you feel you have enough/too much, you want to meet people with the hope of a real connection. let's start by saying both are totally unrelated you are the living proof of that. we can easily set you up to do work that makes a difference in people lives which can only generate connections. do not worry about your looks that doesn't even count, it just takes one and a state of mind that will develop you. so many people are the opposite (no money) and they feel they need it, they feel at a disadvantage assuming someone like you has an advantage. there are so many avenues to explore, you just didn't find yours yet, spending "a lot of" money or going clubbing is certainly not the way forward, generating adventure going out of your way by just enjoying the world to start with that can only grow you make you more interesting through experiences.

I'm not about to feel sorry for someone who 'easily' makes 250K p.a and can live where they choose, have the financial freedom to do as they choose. Get in the sea.

Start using this business to make a stand your passionate about, try and remove the social awkwardness... why do you have it?

If a rich person wants to stay rich, they're not going to spend it all on vacations and strangers and stuff-for-stuff's-sake. When your life is a vacation, it gets pretty boring and lonely. It's hard to keep up any modivation when you really don't HAVE to do something. And it's not always a matter of a rich person having a 2rich4u attitude, it's more the problem of the new people you're trying to get to know finding out you've got plenty of money and reacting negatively to you. They are either jealous, want to take advantage of you, or just can't understand. It's like being the only non-parent in a room full of parents. The "find a hobby or a passion" thing is impossible. If you don't already have one, they're prob not for you to begin with. Maybe you could try mentoring. Who knows. Good luck. Let us know if you find an answer.

Were you lonely before you became rich? I suggest making a pen pal friend who doesn't know about your fortune.
