    That would explain then why this employer was suddenly checking up, maybe. I suppose he was only protecting himself.

    No idea. he would just eb doing what they are required to do anyway. If you wnet to work for a larger organisation, then HR will do it, but a small business, then they are menat to but might be less stringent. I only posted that story becayse it was recent and Byron used to be Osbornes fave. If they had lost of similar stings then they would catch many more working illegallt, but then youd think certain parts of the economy would slow down.

    OP has no problem though.
