Krishnan Guru-Murthy is a friendly chap as well.
Indeed. I think the entire Channel 4 news crew are great.

ITV anchors tend to be crap.

Channel 4 News is class. Alex Thomson (the chief correspondent), Jon Snow and Krishnan Guru-Murthy are legends! Their foreign and political correspondents are all pretty good.
Newsnight is pretty good, Paxman is hilarious.
I have to confess I also like ITV news... much prefer their evening news to the BBC's 6 o'clock. I like the main presenter, Mark Austin, who's especially good when they anchor from location.

He's really good on the News at Noon... they should rename it 'Banter at Noon' though.

I do like Paxman, but often he comes across as an smug, arrogant guy.

He does occasionally, but he is often fantastic. As proven here:

Oh, definately! But that's partly why he's so good. :p:

And I agree, Kirsty Wark annoys me too... and Emily Maitlis does for that matter! Gavin Esler is quite good though.

what? how does it? Its not as if it offers 'the other side of the story' it just takes one story and morph's it up, sometimes with unbelieveable results. I used to watch it a fair bit when i had sky just to see what crap the people wo watched it got. The arab langauge and ME locale ones are even worse.

More 4 news is like the standard Ch4 one but a bit more intellectual, hence my vote goes there. Newsnight is very good too when they're not doing some artsy schmultz.

I have a very strong dislike of Alistair Stewart on ITV: he's always chuckling, and trying to dominate the female co-presenter in a Richard Madeley-esque way and, worst of all, always trying to stick his own opinion in. NEWSFLASH ALISTAIR - nobody apart from yourself gives a damn what your opinion on anything is, you're not Paxman or Snow, you're a rubbish little man. Shut up and read the news.

As for the BBC news, it's way too left wing for me. This wouldn't bother me IF they actually admitted it, at least then I'd feel they're being straight with their viewers, but they won't, they still pretend to be neutral.

For me, it has to be channel 4 news.

I generally only watch either News 24 or Sky News, and I find the former much better. Since I don't watch the Channel 4 news reguarly (mainly because i'm rarely at home at 7pm), I can't comment.
7pm is too early to go drinking, mate.
