it does take a fair bit of effort really, i find using tinder about as fun as job hunting. However, if you put in the effort with someone and end up arranging to meet them then that's where the fun part of tinder starts- getting to know new people.(Original post by BlueSheep32)
I downloaded it a couple of months after my last (and first) relationship ended because I've never really had much interest from men, my ex aside, and I needed a bit of a confidence boost about my looks. I have had quite a few matches but I find talking to people on it an effort, which to me says I should take a step back from dating for a bit longer yet, or I just haven't met the right person on it. I'm quite quiet unless I'm with someone I can hold a conversation with and I find it awkward if I can't - being behind a phone is different and I'm terrified that I'll meet up with someone and we'll struggle to find things to talk about in person.
I use it to meet new people. No expectations really, if the person i am talking to wants a relationship and we click then i'm sure i will be up for that too. If they want casual sex then i would probably be up for that too. However, i have only ever met with 4 women from it and none wanted casual sex. I think my profile and the way i chat when we match gives across the impression that i'm not using it to "hook up".
...and how to stay positive
