The sei is an OK car - for £1000 you are not going to get 5* ncap, a/c PAS leather etc - you get what you paid for - I think it is a car you have to drive to understand why people buy them - sometimes it gets on my nerves, but other times its just fantastic. much more direct and uncomplicated than corsas and clios of the same age, and alot less generic. Just if you buy one - get a sporting thats colour coded - they look daft with big black/grey bumpers and trim.

    It doesn't work like that.

NCAP states a 1 star people carrier will probably be safer than a 1 star city car.

My dads Escort was 2 star but you can see it protects you better than a Corsa B or Punto MK1.

My mistake. The Escort actually looks to have stood up quite well in that picture! I always thought parts of the bumpers were a bit flimsy, from the damage ours got at low speed in a car park...

often the way though - the bits crumple and fall off to protect the important bits - many moons ago when we had a fiat tempra someone drove into the back of us in a vauxhall vectra, cracking their bumper and smashing the fog light - they barely scratched our bumper - we didn't need to do anything to it - yet the vx would be better in a crash than that fiat.

But for £1000 you can easily buy a Fiesta MK4 or Polo MK3 which offers ten times the crash protection of that FIAT. Oh and btw I am a massive FIAT fan.
