    I just lumped it in there for the difficult application/interview process, it is AAA

    ok all you guys have been very helpful, thanks. So now I'm thinking of the following choices:
    -Oxford
    -LSE
    -King's
    -Durham
    -Bristol

    I'm not sure if Bristol can be considered an insurance/safe option though..

    Why not? It's got lower offer grades than the others bar Oxford, and is far more flexible (with it's A*AB alternative condition). Besides, it's still got an excellent course with a large alumni network that will serve you very well in the future, more so than most AAB/ABB universities.
