If only it were that simple little boy. He lived in a very different society to our own, long ago. Traditions were different back then, and they still are now. Its not a valid criticism to whinge about Mohammed being a pedophile when practically the whole world was more positively predisposed to that sort of stuff.
Jesus never married a six year old...

Is it true that Muhammad consummated his marriage with the girl while she was still a child?

No the point is Christians put up with ti Jews put up with it but when it comes to islam the world is horrified you'd say anything against it.

E.g. Many programs, papers and scripts use blaspheming e.g. OMG all the time. This is incredibly offensive and rude to Christians and degrading to the religion. No one even questions it though. It is the 'norm'.

    Comparez vous:

A French satire magazine humorously depicts islam's idol and they are attacked. And people think it was horrifying that the magazine would ever consider depicting this guy. Guess what? God and Jesus are depicted all the time and when was the last time you saw a Christian cop a strop or shoot an office of innocent people making satirical comedy?
We live in a Christian country don't we? The people writing these magazines and who make a joke out of Jesus or God are usually the ones who are born into a Christian family claims they are Christian (Celebrating Christmas etc) but doesn't follow Christianity as it should be followed. Therefore the reason Christians have treated it the 'norm' is because their own people are the ones who are depicting their own religion. However if you go to a Muslim country I doubt any Muslim would make a joke out of their prophet or God. Also I'd don't think a magazine in Dubai or Turkey would depicite Jesus, they understand its rude and disrespectful.
If you're own country has made it the norm then what can you do about it other than deal with it. ( Speaking generally here)

    Ok, it was another time.

How do you explain the fact that Muhammad is still considered to be a perfect human being by every Muslim?

Being a Muslim myself, honestly I've never heard of this. Maybe if you search it up on google or ask a Islamic scholar (that is if you really want the answer) then maybe you could find out instead of asking people on a chat forum.

That does not translate to 100% of Muslims thinking pedophilia is OK. They actively acknowledge that it was a long time ago.

    Agreed.

A Muslim is simply someone who practices Islam and can be of any race, so I don't see how it's racist to criticise it. I do find it amusing how people will bash new religions such as Scientology for being ridiculous, while devoting their lives to a book written by ignorant desert dwellers thousands of years ago (not just Islam).
    I agree.

A Muslim is simply someone who worships the abhorrent god known as "Allah" and who admires the violent warlord Muhammad, whose ideological text "the quran" expects adherents to fight and kill until there is worship only for Allah.

Islam is an ideology. Communism is an ideology. Capitalism is an ideology. Religions themselves are ideologies. We live in a society where we can critically think and criticise anything. People never held back when it came to criticising Christianity with abortion beliefs and Catholic schools with lack of sex ed classes; but as soon as someone brings up how a disproportionate amount of people who follow the Islamic ideology are against Western culture and values (despite living here), they become the bad guy!

Get a clue people. You can criticise, you can support too. But shutting down debate doesn't do any good whatsoever.

P.S. To anyone who would like to use the buzzwords like "bigot, racist, xenophobic, islamophobic etc.", it's getting old, and you've overused those words anyway they're losing their strength in scaring people into shutting up.
100% correct. Everyone has the right to make valid constructive criticism on any religion not just Islam. I as a theist support this very much.

I agree it's just whenever we criticise Catholicism or Judaism etc we never get threatened with jihad or have some crazy bearded goon shouting God is Great and wanting to behead us like a savage.

Muslims think they are above criticism that they are perfect etc if anyone even flinches, we get killed. Barbarians.

So because Muhammed is a prophet in Islam, and this disgusting act of having sex with a 9 year old girl happened a long time ago in a different society, it's not wrong at all?

You and your false prophet are both lunatics

My prophet is Richard P Feynman, not sure why you think he's a lunatic.

And bare in mind that in non-democratic, non-western societies, 1500 years ago, its open to interpretation whether or not that is 'disgusting'. Should I bring up the dozens of cases of Christian pedophilia in the last 5 years? Or is that justified because its a non-foreign religion?

I'm not criticising. I'm just stating the fact that Jesus was not a paedophile and then asking whether Muhammad was.

It goes both ways, there are people who are constantly talking about how to be "tougher" on Muslims and make their lives harder then try to disguise this as "criticism of Islam". There are also people who say that it's OK to hate Muslims on the basis of their beliefs (without knowing what beliefs each individual Muslim holds) and claim that this is not bigotry.

There's a difference between people who call themselves christian who commit pedophilloic acts, and the central figure of a religion, who their god claimed is the morale example everyone should follow in Qur'an 33:21 who saw nothing wrong with having sex with a 9 year old girl.

Then let's also stop using the words: political correctness, leftists, liberals and apologists. Because, that's getting old too.

Have a nice day everyone. Bye.

It depends on the situation. To simply say that religious identification is purely something you can pick and choose like political affiliation is disingenuous. To use the most familiar example, in Northern Ireland the terms 'Protestant' and 'Catholic' do not simply refer to religious observers of Protestantism and Catholicism respectively, but members of particular ethnic communities. Religious communities often become proxies for ethnic divisions. Until the Bosnian War, Bosnia's most populous ethnic group were officially called 'Muslims' (now they're called 'Bosniaks'), even though they were largely secular and nonobservant. Ethnicity and its relationship to religion is a very complex topic, heavily depending on differing social situations. To refer to your specific example, in the UK someone might use the term 'Muslim' not necessarily to mean 'someone who practices and observes Islam' but simply 'a member of the Muslim community', who may still identify as being Muslim despite not actually observing the religion in any meaningful way.

Guess only anti-semetism and anti christian sentiment exists then. Islamophobia is made up?
Yes. Islamophobia is made up. In fact, all ideologies are made up. Including both Islam and Islamophobia.
