Yes it is. I'm showing multiplication by the conjugate of it.
Ah yes of course.
2. (Original post by RDKGames)
Close.
My numerator factors were -42√2, 153, -56 and 102√2
Did you get the same?
3. (Original post by Elisa2000)
Look, minus sqrt 2 and sqrt 2 when multiplied make minus 2
Look what?? You're right.

5. (Original post by RDKGames)
Well 153 - 56 = 97 and 102√2 - 42√2 = 60√2
and the denominator is 1... I don't see where I went wrong
6. (Original post by RDKGames)
Look what?? You're right.
Exactly, so you take that away from 211 ( 153 + 28)
7. (Original post by Notch)
Well 153 - 56 = 97 and 102√2 - 42√2 = 60√2
the denominator is 1, so?
Yeah. Can you see how different it is to:

(Original post by Notch)
Spoiler:
Show
I got 97 - 60√2
?
8. loool gotcha, the worst part is i wrote it down as 97 + 60√2 ;_;
9. (Original post by RDKGames)
Where did you get the -56 from???
10. (Original post by Elisa2000)
Exactly, so you take that away from 211 ( 153 + 28)
No. You misunderstand the calculation.

11. I got
I could plug it into a calculator and check but I'm too lazy.
