Why focus on the present? You'll die anyway so why not make it today? What's the point in delaying the inevitable?
    Think about this every night
    Every night
    Every night
    Every night
    Every night
But people who believe in God are also inevitably going to die so the exact same logic (and it's bad logic) applies.

It's not just focusing on the present, it's focusing on life, on living. Why are you so afraid of your own mortality? Do you dislike your life so much that you're hoping a better one will suddenly pop into place once this one is over?

I don't believe anyone waiting all their lives in hope of a better life and hope of reward once this life is over can be fully happy within themselves: it's lazy thinking - "things will get better." Make this life better yourself you lazy git, or at least try.

You will die now or in 50 years, and since there is no afterlife, it doesn't matter how or when you die. Doesn't matter if you die grayhaired reading a book next to the fireplace, or if you jump of a building.
I want you think of this every night before you go to sleep.
    Every night.
    Every night.
    Every night.
    Every night.
    Every night.
    Every night.

(if you believe in afterlife, please don't post in this thread, ty)

Why does it not matter when you die?

With regards to the rest, are you such a little baby that you can't face the fact that there is no afterlife and you need mommy and daddy to tell you a story of a magical being that will take care of you after you die?

Face it, you are an insignificant collection of atoms, nothing of consequence in the universe and no matter how much you want to believe your life has a higher purpose, it doesn't.

    The analogy of the dog...

"Sit, be good and I'll give you a treat"

    :adore: "Wuff wuff..." (sits)

    k...

    :angelwings: "shiny, twinkly thwamp"

Pets to their own magical fabrications. It's almost a weird sexual kink in a way isn't it? They have fantasies about being dominated by an all powerful being... Bet their idea of an afterlife is being handcuffed to the radiator while they scrub gods shoes.
