I just think people should do what they want to do, you shouldn't look down on someone else. Karma, it will come back around. Be humble.

You're still being lenient imo. Even BBB would be more impressive than D*DD.
I'm sure oxford admissions would put you in your place

As PQ mentioned Oxford do actually specify what the consider to be equivalent. Each university will have it's own classification but regardless of how we view it, Oxford has it's own system.

I'd also like to point out the massive variety of BTEC courses. D*D*D* in Hair and Beauty vs Software Development for example. Different courses hold different weightings. Since the thread developed in a CS/Computing direction I focused on that.

And I certainly wouldn't class a D*D*D* student in Hair and Beauty to be on the same level as an A*A*A* student who took Maths, Physics and Psychology for example.

I spent 4 years at college. My first 2 years I did the BTEC and A Level Maths (so equivalent of 4 subjects) and then I went back for another 2 years because I didn't feel like Uni was a good idea at the time. So I got another 3 A Levels in Graphics, Computing and Psychology.

Academically it was totally unnecessary, the BTEC alone would have got me into uni. Having Maths and Computing is super helpful though. I was looking for apprenticeships at the same time with no luck. I think it was worth it though, the education was free and while it didn't improve my chances of getting into uni it was useful for growing as a person. I don't necessarily recommend it but I don't regret it.

This is TSR. Most of the people on here are virgins and have no friends. They need to feel good about something.

Around that yes. My birthday is in June and I don't remember the exact date I left so I may have been 19. I don't remember if all my exams were done in May.

I'll laugh when I get offers from russell group unis from my btec grades
Why? I gained entry to UMIST after having failed A-levels but then went through the hard slog of ONC & HNC part time while holding down a full-time job, then B.Sc. hons. and finally M.Sc. from Manchester.

Just because people take the BTEC route, does not mean they are not capable.

I think many A-level students are totally up their own arses.
