    Glanville Williams. learning the law

Excellent book. Before I read it about 5 ppl recommended it to me.

If ur interested in law.. best book ever.. if not then its gonna be an absolute bore.

You get to find out about the structure of the legal system as well as advice on how to go about your law degree.

So good.. cant recommend it enough. If ur like me and havent started the law degree yet.. just read slowly and again .. things like "Ratio decidendi" and "Obiter dictum" might fly straight over ur head first time round.
Oh god no! Don't read learning the law, it's terrible, boring and nearly but me off learning law. You'll pick up what it has to say without any effort required once you start your course.

As for the Latin words, i think they're more like technical words than really using Latin. Especially the anglicised way in which they're used. It also make you sound more like a lawyer when you're using them.
