Coming out: Your stories


    It's a bit late, but I thought I'd add this.

    I've never 'formally' come out, as I feel it's too dramatic, and in this country there's not a lot of point. It's illegal to discriminate against someone because of their sexuality anyway.

    However, I'm out to at least two people, with a further few people probably knowing (not quite sure, haven't bothered to ask them) and some of my family probably knowing. It's not like I hide it; nobody asks.

    Thanks for all your replies to this! Really interesting to see different people's stories. Obviously the day's over now (yeah I'm a bit late ) but feel free to keep them coming, particularly those of you facing cultural/religious barriers it's great to see how you've got around and/or overcome them
