This is so very very odd, if you're living close by next year keep your mail away from him-get it sent to your home address, dont leave him alone with your computer and keep him far away from your debit/credit cards- who knows what he might do I know things havn't been hugely serious so far but he may be some identity theft nut!

stop talking to him and cut him out of your life. be careful and watch your steps (not literally of course)

Maybe think about telling the police. Sounds drastic i know..

I mean, he does sound like a nutter. I don't know if you're exhaggerating or not. But it does sound pretty stalkerish.

It sounds like he is almost obsessed with you.

And the outcome of stalking is never good

Maybe she'll become the next Amanda Monti (testicle ripper!) if her stalker helps her...

I saw a movie where Matt Damon plays a person with that disorder. Weird stuff; I'd be careful if I were you.
So I wasn't the only one who immedietly thought of Tom Ripley.

Let's see here, my advice to you is try and find out how to contact his family. If you explain how he is harassing you his father will put him back into the cupboard for a few more years.

I would confront him about this and express your annoyance at what he is doing - If someone was using my name to racially insult other people from other ethnic prigins I would be unbelievably peed off! I would have confronted him by now and would have told him never to use my name online again or he would face losing my friendship. If he is that obsessed with you then that should shock him into behaving - IF not then I suggest you ditch him because at the end of the day if he is using YOUR name online then one day if he decides to do something stupid (Being rascist etc) then the mess that could follow could end up in YOUR lap not his. Besides do you really want to be associated with someone who is rascist? I would sort your friend out because he doesnt seem like a friend I would want to hang with

Ditch him OP , he clearly has issues which he needs to address on his own. But you should do it tactfully and progressively, because by the sounds of him he might not take it very well.

    Hi TSR.

I have this friend who I played computer games with. We talked a lot and as you speak to someone a lot you ask names. When he found out my real name he began using it obsessively almost, using it as his name online, for internet forums, computer games and everything online. I thought this was strange but nothing more.

At this time I was also applying to university and submitted mine in the October, whilst my friend was at a different university. He then applied to the same university as me and we both got accepted. This I thought was a mere coincidence.

As well as these strange behaviors though, he has:

    - Posted my name on youtube as responses in a somewhat racist manner
    - Tried to find my home phone number the summer before university
    - Contacted my cousin to find information about me and my family
    - Has more of my friends on his MSN than I EVER have
    - Contacts my friends often being racist
    - Got a girl to strip on webcam, and write my full name on her bare thigh??
    - Tried stealing pictures from my phone
    - Has a complete obsession with any stories ive told, especially involving girls reciting them to me with extreme accuracy
    - Often posts false information about me using my full name saying I run clubs etc

Combined with all of this my friend likes to exaggerate stories to mutual acquaintances adding his own little subplots often. These are often based, although not always on ones I may have mentioned.

Sorry for the long post, but I ask you does this behavior seem abnormal to anyone else.

Thanks ( Im obviously not anon although no doubt he has a keylogger or something on my pc and is e-stalking me as I type)

Sounds perfectly normal to me, why don't you invite him over for tea or get him to babysit your younger siblings?

OP, I'm surprised how calmly you're reacting to this.

Let everyone you know know what's going on otherwise you might start getting blamed for things. The implications are serious: if an employer googles you they might decide not to offer you a job.

I don't feel threatened. Just disturbed by how much he enjoys pretending to be me online. However im not the only person he has pretended to be, he has also done it pretending to be another person we played games online with (cs if it matters) Maybe he is just like that?

As someone who knows about what has occurred said when reading my post to me : "Its funny because its true". I can understand the "funny" replies, even I wouldn't have taken my post seriously.

I just think its all bizarre. What satisfaction could someone gain getting a girl (probably underage too!) to strip on webcam and write my name on her thigh, all the time pretending it was his and talking about himself (me) in the third person? I know about this only because I was presented with screenshots after signing on later that evening!

he probably "likes" you............ and is just doing these things to provoke your attention and try to make you notice him more.....

if i were you, i would confront him and check why hes doing it (if u dont like it, just tell him)
