Yea generally me and my boyfriend tend to call eachother by our names, strangely enough! But apart from that I call him my boyfriend, and he either refers to me as 'princess', 'wife' or 'ash' depending on who he's talking to :p:

By his name or boyfriend..most people who I would talk to about him know his name anyway. Apart from a few people at work.

i absolutely hate it when people refer to their boyfriend/girlfriend as 'the boy' or 'the girl'. "oh, me and the boy went to the cinema last night". gahhhhh it makes me cringe so much, its awful. i was talking to one of my exes the other day and he was asking me how i was and then he was like "and how is your boy?" and i was like thinking, hm i didn't realise i had a child- who talks like that, honestly?!

i hardly ever use words like boyfriend/girlfriend/partner/other half. like, i would if i was asking someone a question like, "do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend?" but if i'm talking about my boyfriend i'd just use his name. i have no idea why but i just don't like being like 'i went out with my BOYFRIEND and i have a BOYFRIEND and i'm getting a lift there with my BOYFRIEND boyfriend boyfriend boyfriend".
i agree on both accounts i think if ppl repeat 'boyfriend' over and over it sounds like theyre trying to brag, maybe just happy they finally got one.. i dunno, even if it isnt the case if often sounds like it

I don't know about you but partner is either what gay people call each other, no problem with that. Or what you call your "sword" brother at the last stand at the OK Corral. stand by me partner, I'll see you right.

No women is your ***** unless, you are a pimp that's just silly, although in an affectionate way? But I can't see a woman responding too well to the term, maybe I'm old fashioned It's like a woman calling a man her personal pork sword, or her dude for the rude. I mean there's more to a relationship than just being a *****/manwhore isn't there? Well not always but you know what I mean.

I tend to refer to the guy im with as "My Boy Person" instead of "My Boyfriend" mainly because the word Boyfriend really doesn't suit him. That and Boyfriend reminds me of the children at Primary school who used to have "boyfriends" who'd they "marry"

did children do that at any other Primary schools, or was mine just strange?

Other then his name or The Boy Person i have squirmy pet names (namely kitten)
