On a related note, does anyone think it would be likely that my bank will pay for language evening classes?
When you're earning 30k+ a year why would you scavenge off your bank for money .

I took a Gap Year, but I learnt 3 languages in that time, French, Italian and German. But I havn't had any problems, being a C3P0 has its benefits, but tbh, no job so far has had any use for it until I moved into The City. Still even there, it just means I can join in more conversations lol.

    Learning Russian now.

Coz it'll be a few hundred pounds. Once I'm on decent money I'm hoping I would lose all sense in terms of valuing money.

I've studied French in school for 7 years but can't really speak it very well (had lots of crappy teachers), so I'm going to solidify my skills this entire summer by going to France and study French. On top of that I want to go to China this next year to study Chinese. I realise it could be tough to learn it fluently in a year, but its definitely possible if you put your mind to it... at least that's the impression I've gotten. Besides, I'm going to Warwick after that, and there's tons of Chinese people there that I could chat with to improve my Chinese (or why not continue studying it there?). Does this sound like a good idea or is it a waste of time, IB-wise? Thing is I strongly doubt I'd be able to get some finance-related work experience in China because my visa won't allow working at all. On the other hand, I'm sure it's possible to make up for that my participating in societies and stuff.

Also, would it be better to learn Mandarin or Cantonese?
