Don't got near a webcam when drunk. They should a breathaliser which you have to blow on before being allowed to use them. That is my advice to you.

Look closely and you'll notice it's actually almost 14 months old. Holy thread resurrection batman!

Appropriate to the thread title, however - I've been drinking whisky on my own this evening after excusing myself from socialising and pretending to be working.

Oops thought it was in recent threads rather than related threads. My mind is slowly turning to mush after watching so much Jeremy Kyle recently.

Not this whiskey. My GOD it is terrible. Don't get me wrong, a good whisky is one of my favourite types of spirit but this is a half-finished bottle of awfulness that was left in the cupboard by a friend who has gone home for the summer.

Not to mention commenting on a 14 month-old thread with accusations of 'sadness.' :p:

By the way, what whiskey was that poor? The only thing that ever engendered that kind of reaction in me was Bell's 8 year (the base model, for want of a better phrase), and I put that down to personal preference. Even Tesco Value was drinkable, at a stretch.

"Bailie Nicol Jarvie", according to the label. Not that I know very much about these things. It is alarmingly yellow and I fear from its taste that it has soured a little whilst in the cupboard.

I have, however, had worse - I was rather generously offered a sip of Sainsbury's basics whiskey (purchased by a friend of mine, who - by way of explanation of this act - is both a Scotsman and a copious drinker) which tasted like paint thinner. Not that I have ever drunk paint thinner, of course.

I've never heard of it, but 'alarmingly yellow,' does sound a bit of a worry. A brief Wiki read indicates that it's a cheap blend that is only popular in Scotland, which may be considerably more of a worry. It may, if I'm honest, just be testament to my bloody-mindedness that I was able to tolerate the supermarket budget brand stuff I mentioned, given that I was bequeathed it by someone (presumably) less determined than myself. Such things are to be avoided if at all possible.

No. I will accept reps however. I just don't want you to think I'm trying to take advantage of your drunken state. :nope:

EDIT: Just noticed how old this thread is. Good show.
