Happiness, has that proxy site worked for you? 'Cause it just comes up with a black screen for me...

Gah, I need to find someone in the US! Badly!

I'm in America at the moment and have just been to the shop last night. If anyone wants to know if things are on the US site or anything, ask me and I'll have a look for you

^^ Can you access the European version over there, or does it just relocate you? Do they have the 'Molly' dress?

Just tried about 5 of them and they didn't work, I could get onto the main page but when I tried to click on 'Mens' I kept getting an error, they obviously don't allow you to view it through a proxy
Yeah, I tried that too. It directed me through to the US site, but if I tried to click mens or womens, then it wouldn't work. Looks like they outsmarted us!

Nope, even if I go on the .co.uk site I still get redirected to the US one. And yes, the Molly dress is there, $59.50.
There's also a clearance section on the US site, where most of the things which have been and gone off the UK site are now about half the price (the clearance section is always at the back of the shop).

There are companies that specialise in that sort of caper. Basically, they make their money from sites that only sell within certain countries i.e. you want a dress from a site that only ships within the US, so when paying for your dress you ship the dress to this special company, they'll charge a small handling fee, then they ship the dress to you! I'm pretty sure customs and all that still applies, but have a nosey about google and you should come across several companies like that.

You CANNOT access the American website www.abercrombie.com from UK or EUROPE.

Before the London Flagship store opened, you were allowed to go on abercrombie.com to shop but due to the store opening, all traffic is diverted to abercrombie.co.uk

I know abercrombie.com is alot cheaper than our UK website. Unfortunatly our friends over on the other side of the Atlantic pays less, we have to pay a premium for a US brand, thats the way it is.
You can actually - well from Europe anyway, not the UK. My boyfriend and I tried to buy stuff from the American site when we were in Estonia and it let us order loads of it, but then cancelled our order when it realised we had an English delivery address and an English debit card.

It is much, much more expensive in the UK than the US - I think it might be a straight dollar/pound mark-up, which is completely ridiculous.

Yep, I *think* that something that's US$59 is £59, which is stupid.

StotheL, would you be so kind as to find such a company and post the link? All I've found so far is some kind of strange, sex toy company in Amsterdam that's willing to ship anywhere in the world and then a plethora of other freight shipping companies. I'm presuming these wouldn't be suitable 'cause, like, I'm not emigrating to Australia - I just want some new dresses!

No worries! Haha, that doesn't surprise me, I tend to stay clear of websites with dodgy names now after too many nasty/strangely amusing experiences..long stories! Hope you get your dress ordered!

Hey, If you go on the uk website and click on kids, thatll take you to an american kids abercrombie (as at the moment there is no uk kids) Not only does this stuff not have tax as its kids stuff, it can fit adults. I'm around a size 8, and if i get the XL kids it fits me nicely. Also, the polos are like, 29 dollars which is 15 quid! bargain. You obv have to pay p&p and import tax, but thats not alot and you will still save looooads of money. So if your small enough, go for it!

Also, you can buy bags, shoes and scarves etc off the kids (which ive bought alot of!) for again a cheap price. the shoes go up to size 6/7 i think, which should accommodate most girls.

Hope that helped!

Slightly OT but anyway.. I was thinking about Abercrombie kids earlier - my brother's off to the USA and I want him to pick up a hoodie for me as they're sooo much cheaper there. The kids ones are obviously cheaper than the ladies ones and I'd thought XL should fit me (I'm size 8, arround 5'5") but wasn't sure if it'd be too tight/sleeves too short etc to be comfy? I don't want it massively baggy but it has to be comfortable... do you have any hoodies from there?
