Local band called The Exits - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf7pWLevOOU

I went and saw a gig of theirs bout 3 months back now. It was amazing and they seemed far better live than they did on the demos ive heard! They seem to be getting great reviews as well which theyve posted on their facebook page!

Anyone else like them or am i alone in this lol

Very underrated band from Canada who I hope to see make it big.

http://www.myspace.com/eliasband

Please check out the last song Blow Away as with 737 views it is not just underrated, it's bordering on criminal.

All we want is the most popular and I have to say I agree it probably is the best.
Valencia

Check out their myspace page, I'm obsessed!

This group is really something else. They have about 3.5 million friends myspace but when you look at the amount of plays each song has had it seems that not many people have bothered to listen to it, and it's GREAT! There music is really out there:

Ok, here's my list.

Saving Aimee and Scholars are both sort of alternative pop rock, both upbeat, cheerful bands in the Hertfordshire area.

Laura Marling (she was on at Glasto) and Lyla Foy both do sort of folk/rock stuff, with some really beautiful singing.

Not my thing but there is no doubt she is talented and I've always got time for real musical talent. This song is a bit of a guilty pleasure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djChY6Ol9ig&feature=user <-- another good one
I love Laura Marling I've been listening to her for ages....although nobody knows of her! She's completely different to the music I like though.

I know! My brother likes her, but nobody else I know does.

By the way, I didn't realise someone else had posted Laura Marling; they were just anonymous youtube links to me

I found these after hearing a song they did on "Scrubs", good shout.

Did you think about them when "Valencia" was mentioned? I was about to mention them because of that but then saw you had.

Everyone should check out firewater, that was the best shout on here so far for my money. I sat listening to the album "The Golden Hour" last night and it's absolutely brilliant.

How well known are Sunshine Underground? I'm out of touch with "the charts" so I don't really know but they are another quality band.

Heard of a great metal band from Nottingham - illuminatus. www.myspace.com/illuminatusuk

Exit Ten are ace! Just brought their full-length debut out - Resume Ignore was the first off their mini-album - www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKbdTrWWr6k

Show of Hands seem fairly unknown, folk band who play with Seth Lakeman - www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5h4PFBuzvw

angus & julia stone?
tilly and the wall?
great lake swimmers?
iron and wine?

i don't know how well known any of these are but they're what came to mind.
all relatively chilled out and acoustic.
except tilly and the wall perhaps.
not really sure what you're after....
I love Iron and Wine! I'll have to check out those others; that's the sort of music I loove.
I'm really into random female vocalists like Ingrid Michaelson, Rachel Yamagata, Allie Moss and Rosie Thomas at the moment. Also love Joseph Arthur and Jon McLaughlin
