As do I...

I also made up my own quote:
"**** it, though. Life goes on."

It helps me to be indifferent towards whatever I feel like being indifferent towards.

It's not a quote, it's a poem, but one of my favourites and the most inspirational I know. Enjoy! (note this is not an official translation)

Ithaca

As you set out on the voyage to Ithaca,
wish your road to be long,
full of adventure, full of knowledge.
Of the Laistrygonians, and the Cyclops,
of the angry Poseidon, don't be afraid,
you'll never find them on your way,
if your thinking remains lofty, if refined
emotion your spirit and your body touches.
The Laistrygonians and the Cyclops,
the furious Poseidon you won't encounter,
if you don't carry them inside your soul,
if your soul doesn't raise them up in front of you.

Wish your road to be long.
That there be many summer mornings
when with what pleasure, what joy
you enter harbors you're seeing for the first time,
that you stop at Phoenician market places,
and the fine merchantise you acquire,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfume of every kind,
-as many sensual perfumes as you can-
that to many Egyptian cities you go,
to learn and learn from the scholars.

Always keep Ithaca in your mind.
Getting there is your destination.
But don't hasten the journey at all.
Better to last for many years
and you be old by the time you anchor at the island,
rich with all you gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaca to give you riches.

Ithaca gave you the wonderful journey.
Without her you wouldn't have set out.
She has nothing more to give you.

And if you find her poor, Ithaca hasn't deceived you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
already you'll have understood what those Ithacas mean.

"save water, dilute it"
"In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women."

I don't agree with the last one but it's a classic

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Razors pain you, rivers are damp, acid stains you, drugs cause cramps, gun aren't lawful, nooses give, gas smells awful, you might as well live

Actually Audrey Hepburns:

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it's at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.
