Alf Garnet definitely won't be replaced in this day and age.
As won't Love Thy Neighbour because of the race questions, but it really was funny.
Some Mothers Do Ave Em is still my favourite though...nothing wrong with slapstick..a dying art.
They were original and incredible, but I don't accept that they have not been replaced; they have been built upon -- if we simply had duplicates of them it would get lame. It only seems like that because they were ground-breakers and derived a lot of their success from that fact.
Considering Monty Python is 40 years old and kids still know about them proves they're amazing, and are one of the greatest comics in English history imo.
I LOVE Monty Python....
