I was keen to get a house but since I don't know geographically where I'll be and investments/savings that would be the deposit can cover rent then whats the point?

If me and my boyfriend are still together *fingers crossed*.....we would want to get one as soon as possible, neither of us like the idea of renting, but we would both have to have stable jobs and be on a decent wage and have saved enough for a deposit. So hopefully I will be 23 he will be 24/25. I wouldn't really be able to do it on my own I don't think. I have no inheritance and my parents are struggling themselves. Realistically though it is likely to be later than that, more like me 25 him 26.

My first was bought when I was 18. My mother did contribute financially though, I wouldn't have been able to afford it without her help.

Then when I was 23, my hubby and I bought my mam's house off her. We own it jointly (70/30 split) with two mortgages on it. Hubby was 30 at the time, so that was his first house purchase.

I'd like to aim for the mid 20's, but neither of us graduate until we're a bit into our 20's so we'll just have to get our careers moving first. ASAP I'd like to say, simply because I want to decorate a place fully as I please and it'll undoubtedly be a bit of a zoo with all the animals we're getting.

I'm 22 now and still at university. Buying a house seems to be a very long way off in the future. Plus buying a house commits you to one place for a significant period of time...I'm not ready to settle down at all!

A law degree isnt training... thats on top of the degree. I'll graduate this summer at 21, then train for 3 years (one is a postgrad course and then two are training years at a law firm). So i'll be 24/25 when I finally qualify and get a house
