Hi, you raise an interesting point, but when i said getting a job i was refferring to management consultancy and accounting fims such as pwc, delloite, ernst and young which regularely recruit graduates and have a very clear idea about universities and which ones they want to target, obviously there will be people from lower ranked universities that make through, but there is a general trend and nottingham seems to be in that banch of universities that they regularely recruit from, i understand this will not guarantee a job, but it will sure as hell increase my chances when i do graduate in 3 years time, but on the other hand i dont want to have 3 miserable years in the persuit of a marginally better job.

    Thanks for the advice though
    Much appreciated.
You maybe interested to know that a few weeks ago a Notts careers advisor showed me a survey which stated that the big 4 firms - PWC, deloitte, Ernst and Young and KPMG - employed more Nottingham grads last year than any other university - therefore, for general solid job prospects alone Nottingham would be better than Aston by quite some way - esp as recruiters are tightening the group of unis they are recruiting from.

However, there really us no point going somewhere you would not like. But then again, there is not much to dislike about Nottingham - great campus and nightlife - city as well - its not like places like Warwick or St Andrews which are a required taste.
