£995 M-reg Citroen AX 1.0
Had it for over 4 years and my brother drove it when he passed his test too.
It was a great car and we didn't really want to sell it. Only standard servicing and maintenance was required and it never broke down once.

£100 starlet...£3500 insurance
I thought I was one of the only people on this earth to have a starlet! Mine was all tricked out and boyracer-y when I got, which is like the opposite to me so it's funny

First car was £475, Pug 106. My brother paid for it, and the insurance, and I'm still paying him back. I sold it about a month after I got it because I hated it, so my first proper car is probably my Ka. £2380, 55 plate: parents paid for it with a loan, I pay them back £70 a month. Bro paid insurance for this as well, but I have to pay him back.
I've been quite lucky to have people willing to lend me money, I guess!

OMG I remember! Oh I cried so badly for it, as I saw it in Poundstretcher! RECHAREABLE! Woop woop it was some kind of Nikko brand?

But anyway, yeah, about £5.99.

[My sarcasm gets me in trouble.]

£1,750.
It was a '77 Triumph Spitfire 1500 convertible.
Looked a bit like this... Only difference was that mine had steel wheels instead of chrome wires.

Mine cost me £520 including delivery (the guy got it to my house).

I have since spent at least £10k on parts and modifying it.

Insurance the first year was about £600, my renewal when I was 19 was £230.

The first car I drove after passing my test was the one I learned to drive in and it belonged to my parents (1.8 L mondeo, 1 year old when I started driving it - I drove it for a year after passing my test without incident).

The first car I bought cost me 16k (plus £1500 on top for insurance).

£1295 for the car (Hyundai Atoz) and £800 for the insurance. Since then I've spent around a grand keeping it on the road (MOT, service, clutch, gearbox, exhaust, drivers door and Brake Pads). The renewal insurance was £600

Hi JC,

What was it like as a car to live with everyday? I'm looking at getting a Spit or a Midget as my first car. Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Ben

£4000ish.
55 reg Peugeot 107, and I love it. I need it to last a long time, hence I spent so much. Plus, my sister might have it when she's old enough to drive.

Cost of Insurance? Did you have to do much work to it, or was it in good condition when you got it? :p:
