Oh I see. That makes sense.
Surely though if you are doing German at University you will be way ahead of everyone else if you've already done your "year abroad" type thing?

No, because I'm taking up ab initio Spanish, so whilst I be more proficient in German, It'll give me more time to work on my Spanish.
