Well maybe their presents are bigger than yours! For our last birthdays, I got about 10 presents and my friend got 2. Hers were a car and petrol money for a year. You can rest assured a LOT more was spent on her than it was me.

it's not about quantity, it's about quality . and the intention counts.
And I never doubted that. But that's not the topic in question.

    LOLWTF?
This year I got about 6, including one biggish one. I don't think I've ever got more than 10 and they would be small ones (not including stocking fillers - I get about 10-15 of those). My 'rents usually spend £80-100 on our christmas prezzies, but then they've got 3 kids to buy for. Maybe the OP's an only child?

So many judgemental people on this thread- seriously everyone using tsr should be old enough not to judge other people that they don't even know ffs.

As regards present giving and stuff from my own experience it seems that many people who can't really afford to go all out are the ones that do- my neighbour who's a single mum working in a supermarket gave her thirteen year old twins £400 each!!! They're the best dressed kids on the estate too always dressed in nike other brand names. They get a bouncy castle rented for their birthday every year too :ahee:

On the other hand my friend who's parents are an engineer and an owner of a McDonald's franchise are minted but give their kids very little at Christmas and birthdays- my friend got £20 (and a nail clippers :teehee: ) but then they always go on really expensive summer holidays so people have different priorities I guess
