If we were to suddenly switch to using Base 16 , it wouldn't actually be base "16" at all because the number 16 is itself a product of the base 10 system. We'd have to invent 7 new numbers to come after 9.

I actually just woke up from dozing with that thought. I really need a life.

I sit looking at screens like this all day for a job:

and I don't have thoughts about this.

Hexadecimal would be a Base10 numbering scheme if we lived in a hexadecimal world, btw. :awesome:

Now I think about it, so it would. Mind=blown.

You likely don't think about it because you understand it; I don't know anything about how numbers work, so I spend my time wondering and trying to puzzle it out in my head. Thanks to my little sleepy epiphany, I'm now wide awake and trying to read about hexadecimal.

I pity you haha. Hex is one of those things that will slowly drive you insane I do love it so...

In other news, cellular data connections on commuter trains are ****. Poor show really.

Pretty sure I'm a reptile. Spent all weekend having the piss taken out of me for sitting around shivering violently because there was a mild breeze. Now I'm in my living room, frantically fanning myself to try to cool off because the ambient temperature is just slightly on the warm side.

O hai there, omnipotent creator. I can haz thermoregulatory systems please?
I'm terrible at thermoregulation, although pretty much only when it comes to being cool. If the temperature is about average or higher, I feel drastically overheated >< I much prefer to be cold.

    Saw this, thought of you!

...ok, I got ahead of myself and now can't find the picture -_- It was an adorable smiley looking cat with one of it's front arms in a cast, which its owner had signed with a really cute message

Think the window cleaner caught me naked this morning

Also, I am extremely jealous of my boyfriend. He's got himself a new job with a coach company, but one their contracts is for the Olympics. Specifically, ferrying participants and support people to and from the aquatic centre!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Pregnancy DOES sound scary, even though I'm a guy. We studied about that few years back and the thought of a baby squeezing through a disproportionately tiny passage is just, painful. Reminds me I should thank my mum every day for bringing me into this world.
My mum had three kids, so yeah I respect that. But me doing that? err.. no thanks.

That sounds horrific. Driving in London is awful enough as it is, let alone during the Olympics and straight into the heart of all the congestion.

It'll probably only be to and from the athletes' village and to and from the hotels for all the cameramen/support people. It does sound horrific, but even more so that he'll be ferrying the Team GB diving team about and I won't be there! :hmpf: I've ordred him to get me some pictures

Congrats! Personally, I'm trying to stay as far away from the Olympics as possible hehe. I'm going to a "We're not watching the Olympics BBQ" on the night of the opening ceremony with a bunch of like minded friends
