Sorry I thought you meant the next question. It is because IAA inhibits cell growth on the bottom of the root-tip therefore the top grows more/faster compared to the bottom resulting in downward growth

In shoot tips IAA increases growth but in root tips it decreases growth. So more IAA at the bottom means the bottom grows slower, top side grows faster making it grow downwards

IAA goes to the lower side due to gravity. IAA in the root-tip inhibits the growth of the cells so they grow less. This results in downward growth.

Basically when IAA is in high concentrations in roots, growth is inhibited.
