LSE's PPE course itself is too new to draw an exact comparison. However, for the individual subjects, LSE is far far better - it has been ranked in the top 3 in the UK in all 3 separate subjects for the past 6 consecutive years alone. So, it is highly likely that the PPE course will be of similar, if not better standard.
Thanks for the reply! That is something I will consider

Completely agree and i was not replying or referring to your post specifically as i was just making a point as i see endless post when students are confused. LSE is definitely a no brainer. Other universities take reading material from LSE.

How long are the Easter and xmas breaks? Is it better to confirm 39 weeks let or 30 weeks let?

4 Weeks each. Contract length depends on personal preference really, the problem with the 30 week contracts is that you will have to vacate your room COMPLETELY before the Christmas and Easter holidays. So, a 38 week contract seems more convenient, and also, if by any chance you need to stay in your accommodation for a day or 2 during the holidays, you're more than able to do so!

hello! I know I'm being annoying, but I'm so anxious and overstressed,
I've been through at least 5 weeks of the 8th week selection.
The last time they contacted me, was a week ago asking the school my predicted grades for the french baccalaureate.
    they predicted:
17/20 in maths(included further maths), economics and history/geography.
20/20 in english, spanish and italian.
    14/20 in philosophy
and 19/20 in art (optional subject)
Do you think I have chances to get in?

Would anyone on this thread think of firming Durham for law instead of LSE. My son's worried about the whole student experience at LSE. Any first year LSE students who could reply to this?
I'm curious, what aspect of the student experience is your son worried about exactly? Does it have a particularly bad reputation?

He heard it had a very corporate feel to it and students rarely socialised.

Well it depends how much of a consideration cost is. I personally opted for the 30 week contract because it saves money whilst still having a single room and gives me more to enjoy myself. At the end of the day it's an expensive storage unit if you're paying for a room but bot living in it for 8 weeks of a year. Obviously if you have something like a TV or a mini fridge then it's a lot of effort to vacate your room for the holiday periods but even a self storage unit would be cheaper for the 4 weeks(tho maybe a lot of hassle). Also if you don't want to spend the whole holiday at home then a 30 week contract is also useless
The annoying thing about the application form is you can only choose either 30 week or 38 week and not mix it up. I wanted to choose Rosebery and Passfield on 30 week contracts and Bankside on 38 week but couldnt

Those were my sentiments, exactly. I think you get students who have a grudge against a university and when offers come out they try and destroy its reputation.
